Spa Developments are involved in designing a flagship spa for a leading international luxury hotel brand with developments in the UK, EU, USA, ME and AP.

The stunning 5 star resort is situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s ground breaking new lagoon, beach and cultural district Saadiyat Island. The hotel resort is surrounded buy some of the world’s greatest architects newest creations and is one of the few top end hotels that will celebrate the islands 9 kilometre shore line.

The spa itself takes the form of 6 ultra modern building structures. Like islands within and island linked by glass corridors. Accommodation includes co-ed gym, spa cuisine, separate male/female wet and dry treatment, & state of the art externalised hydro therapy areas providing the best in sauna, steam, vitality pool and shower experiences.

The buildings principle Co-ed spaces, double height in volume, will bask in natural light and sunshine whereas the gender segregated spaces will be more internalised and cocooning.

One of Spa Developments’ key decisions in designing these internalised spaces was the inclusion of roof lights within corridor ceilings and enclosed walkways ensuring that the guests benefited from experiencing the transition of natural lit daytime spaces to more moody ensconcing environment.
